Getting colder out there in Maine…

...Definitely fall by now, but there are still some good sunny days to finish projects ahead of winter. Anyone still last minute planting shrubs or bulbs? That would be me last week, but it’s all mostly done by now. Don’t forget big discount season at the nurseries is happening if you need a plant fix.

Rounding up Maine news this week, a look at how a 15 week abortion ban have effected some Maine mother’s pregnancy complications, a review of Paul LePage’s stance on immigration over time, and one Maine employer taking the plunge on workplace childcare.

That big storm last week knocked down a lot of my foliage leaves, but a trip up the turnpike this week showed me that there’s still some gorgeous golden color on the treetops. (Hint-we’ll have a good look at foliage in our next “Climate Driven” drop at month’s end.)

Elsewhere in the batch we’ll profile VT’s foliage report collectors, understand why cork is coming back, and profile the next UN Climate Conference.

Until next time!

Abortion rights advocates say it's a proposal that fails to take into account the issues that can arise later in pregnancy.
