Park City PowderFest

Let’s End Cancer Together.

Dear Friend,

We’re officially a month away from Huntsman Cancer Foundation SportsFest, and we can’t wait! From the moment you arrive, SportsFest will make you want to celebrate. You’ll see teams in matching shirts, finish-line smiles, high-fives from volunteers, and lots of reasons to pause and soak it all in. Whether you’re walking, running, riding, questing, or cheering others on, there’s something for everyone to get involved in to support the real reason SportsFest happens every year.

SportsFest is more than just an event on the calendar. It’s a full day of energy, community, and moments that bring us together for one common goal: end cancer together.

This is the kind of day where people love, laugh, and leave ready to come back next year and continue to make a difference.

Kindly,

Jen and Kristen

FRIDAY NIGHT FUNDRAISING DINNER: When you raise $200 or more, you receive a free ticket to the Friday Night Fundraising Dinner sponsored by Chili’s. You will receive an email and will also be contacted a couple of weeks before the event to request an RSVP. Guest tickets will be available for purchase. Kick off SportsFest weekend with a relaxed, come-as-you-are evening celebrating the impact of our community.

MileSTONES: Why do you participate in SportsFest? As you start your event, grab a bag and a stone, tuck it in your pocket, and grab a new stone at each water or rest stop. Each stone represents why you participate in SportsFest. At the finish line, participants will place their stones into a shared container as a symbol of support, remembrance, and hope for all affected by cancer.

RUN/WALK

INCENTIVES: Naturally, the greatest reason to fundraise is to advance the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute, but a little fun goes a long way. Not only will you be making a difference when you fundraise, but you can also earn fun incentives. From a SportsFest merchandise coupon to a free pair of shoes from Salt Lake Running Company and apparel items, your fundraising dollars help you earn these fun items! Check out all of the incentive items you can earn.

COUCH TO K TRAINING PROGRAM: You do not have to be an elite runner to join SportsFest. We invite everyone, regardless of age, ability, or experience, to join and make a difference in cancer research. If you are looking for a training program to help you walk or run the 5K or 10K, check out our recommended Couch to K training program created by our experienced running coaches.

UTAH TRIPLE CRANK: We are thrilled to be the first ride event of the legendary Utah Triple Crank sponsored by Stadler! This prestigious three-event award recognizes those who successfully complete Huntsman Cancer Foundation SportsFest’s 140-mile distance, the Iron Lung ride, and LoToJa as an individual in the same year. That’s almost 450 miles that support the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute! Are you up for the challenge? SALEM SHUTTLE: Riding from the Salem start line? Our Salem Shuttle Service is back, generously sponsored by Daiichi-Sankyo, to make your event morning easier and stress-free. The cost is $30 for participants who raise $250 or more, and $80 for non-fundraisers. The Salem Shuttle includes Friday night bike transport to Salem, Saturday morning rider shuttle from Salt Lake City to Salem, and a comfortable motorcoach with a restroom and charging ports. PARTICIPANT ITEMS: All virtual participants registered by Sunday, June 7, will have their bibs and t-shirts mailed to them before the event. If you have reached your incentive level by that date, those will be included as well. All other items earned after June 7 will be mailed after the event. If your address has changed since you registered, please email Jen Murano at [email protected].

If you haven’t shared your fundraising page recently, now’s a great time. Try framing it around the experience: “SportsFest is a month away, and I’m stoked! I would love your support as I get ready for event day.” It keeps things fun and gives people an easy way to cheer you on. You could also hang up one of these customizable SportsFest flyers that can connect directly to your fundraising page. Hang them up at work, on a church bulletin, or at your favorite coffee shop.
