This year marks an extraordinary milestone for Food Bank of the Rockies. After nearly 20 years in a space we had long outgrown, we are settling into our new main distribution center, bringing all of our food, staff, and operations under one roof for the first time in years. What does this mean for our neighbors facing hunger? It means more food and better food. For Food Bank of the Rockies, it also means greater efficiency and $500,000 in cost savings annually — dollars that can go toward nourishing families across our region. With triple the cold-storage capacity, we can accept and distribute significantly more fresh and frozen produce and protein. With 130% more dry storage space, we can source larger quantities of top-requested foods like beans, rice, and shelf-stable protein. Simply put: more nutritious, familiar food for neighbors who need it. There are challenges, too. The most significant changes in history to programs like Medicaid and SNAP will force more people to turn to us and our partners to access the food they and their loved ones need. Household budgets will be tighter, uncertainty around food will grow, and, in the face of these difficulties, the work we do at the Food Bank alongside our supporters, volunteers, and community will be more critical than ever. As we look ahead to 2026 and beyond, we know that there will be incredible opportunity to lift up our neighbors with familiar, nutrient-rich, and delicious food. We know our neighbors will be facing hurdles they never imagined and will need support in ways we may not yet realize. You make this work possible through your generosity, time, advocacy, and care for our community. Thank you for standing with us.
