WHYY has been in the classroom for decades, ensure we continue our work.
Hi there,
I’m Anna Phillips, and I’m proud to work in WHYY’s education department. Today, I’m asking for your support to ensure that we can continue to bring PBS Kids learning resources to children across Philadelphia. A donation to WHYY this holiday season will directly impact a myriad of programs.
This past year, my colleague Katherine and I hosted 160 storytime sessions, reaching 2,822 children and giving away 4,911 books. We’ve filled Little Libraries across neighborhoods, hosted read-alongs at preschools and promoted WHYY’s original kids’ series Albie’s Elevator, empowering families to build their own home libraries.
Growing up, PBS Kids shows like Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Arthur and Reading Rainbow were my first connection to storytelling. I know firsthand the impact these programs can have. That’s why I’m so passionate about the work we do at WHYY — bringing trusted, high-quality educational programming and resources to children and caregivers who need them most.
If you value the power of stories to inspire, educate, and connect us, I hope you’ll consider donating to WHYY today. Together, we can ensure that every child in Philadelphia has access to books, stories and the tools they need to thrive.
Thank you for supporting WHYY and the families we serve.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year!
