We are excited to announce that in celebration of World Food Day, Regeneration International, in collaboration with our partners, will host the fourth annual People’s Food Summit on October 16, 2024. This inspirational 24-hour event features a wide variety of speakers from every region of our planet. Over the years, this event has blossomed and flourished, becoming a vital information exchange, connecting people across continents, with over 522,000 people from around the world tuning in to hear about concrete solutions for growing nutritious food, building soil, healthy communities and more. The People’s Food Summit is a virtual summit, starting in Oceania and moving westward through the time zones of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and North America. Each section has been organized by their own region, empowering communities to highlight their own local priorities and concerns. The People’s Food Summit is a truly inclusive and participatory event that amplifies the voices of those who produce 70% of the world’s food: smallholder farmers, pastoralists, and foresters. We are showcasing practical, farmer-led practices that represent the future of food and agriculture, including agroecology, organic and regenerative farming, permaculture, agroforestry, holistic grazing practices, grassroots efforts to protect food sovereignty, and much more. The summit also aims to strengthen connections among food and farming organizations and individuals worldwide. By sharing knowledge and inspiring stories, we aim to engage hundreds of thousands of people in driving the transformation of more agricultural systems toward regenerative and organic practices. Our key objectives include: -Encouraging knowledge exchange among participants. Along with the Regeneration International network we are asking you to please help spread the word about the People’s Food Summit! Listed below, by region, are the speakers who will each be sharing their own experience and expertise. We are fortunate to have them all with us this year and grateful to have them sharing their compelling stories, wisdom, and interviews, giving tips on innovative, creative farming, bringing new or resurrecting long-dormant practices to light. We hope you can catch many of these segments on World Food Day, Monday, October 16, 2024. If you miss a session, you can watch here, as well as view segments from previous years. We're dedicated to expanding our reach and building a global grassroots movement. We rely on dedicated local and international organizations to identify regional best practices, guide our global campaigns and ensure our message of hope through regeneration reaches even the most remote communities. Regeneration International is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, dedicated to building a global network of farmers, scientists, businesses, activists, educators, journalists, policymakers and consumers who will promote and put into practice regenerative agriculture and land-use practices that: provide abundant, nutritious food; revitalize local economies; regenerate soil fertility and water-retention capacity; nurture biodiversity; and restore climate stability by reducing agricultural greenhouse gas emissions while at the same time drawing down excess atmospheric carbon and sequestering it in the soil.
