American University Alumni Relations Events and Resources for New Eagle Families
Orientation 2023

Greetings Eagle Families!

We are so excited to see many of you on campus soon for Family Weekend! We hope you have fun and take in all that our campus and Washington, DC have to offer. After all the excitement and fanfare, the resume of classes and midterms may be stressful, but there are plenty of resources your student can use in the weeks ahead. Encourage your student to take advantage of faculty office hours, teaching assistants, supplemental instruction, our writing center, and other academic support services. Our Center for Well-Being and Psychological Services offers self-help resources in addition to individual and group psychotherapy. We’ll offer a webinar, “Navigating Academics” later this month to share more about the resources we offer to help your student along their academic journey and will send you an invitation to register.

This is our last Orientation Weekly for our families. Your Eagles are flying now, and we thank you for your engagement during this transition. We look forward to staying connected through our Family Update newsletters and our Family Webinar Series. As always, you are welcome to reach out to us any time at [email protected].
