Hello Friend,
Summer is the time for outdoor barbeques, picnics in the park, and special meals shared with family and friends. But this summer, we’re all seeing higher prices at the grocery store. For some, this means thinking twice before throwing something they don't need into the grocery cart. But for too many of our neighbors, these rising costs mean a choice between buying groceries and paying rent.
Sharon, a participant at our Rosa Parks Pop-up Pantry, is one of those neighbors. “We’re forced to make choices, you know? I literally don’t go grocery shopping. I can’t afford to. I’m caught, stuck between the choice of paying my housing and utility costs and purchasing food. So, I literally gave up on purchasing food, and without the Food Bank…” she trailed off, but the implication is obvious.
Today, you can help make sure neighbors like Sharon don’t have to make that choice. Donate today to help provide healthy groceries our neighbors depend on.
