American University Alumni Relations Events and Resources for New Eagle Families

This week for new families

Greetings Eagle Families,

We hope you've been enjoying graduation ceremonies and special moments that mark the end of your student's senior year!

By now, your student should have their fall housing assignment and roommate. They've probably also just finished registering for fall classes. So now, we can really dive into New Eagle Essentials - our online orientation. We hope you and your student will join us to get an introduction to a range of offices in large and small group sessions. Your student can register through their Engage app, families and friends can register for one of the three sessions as listed below:

New Eagle Essentials is offered on Zoom, families can use this form to register for one of these three times:
Note: If possible, we encourage students and families to attend using separate devices so that you can attend breakout sessions separately.

  • Tuesday, June 28 from 6 – 9 p.m. ET

  • Wednesday, July 13 from noon – 3 p.m. ET

  • Saturday, July 23 from 9 a.m. –  noon ET

We are also offering our Parent and Family Transitions live webinar session with Fanta Aw, Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment, Campus Life and Inclusive Excellence. In this session, we'll have a heart-to-heart as we talk through what you can expect as your Eagle adjusts to campus life this fall.

Parent and Family Transitions is offered on Zoom, twice:

We'll continue to send regular emails throughout the summer. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to [email protected].

We are so excited to have you join the AU Eagle family!
