Politics season is heating up…

... On Tuesday Maine Public and the Portland Press Herald host a Gubernatorial debate live on Maine Public Radio and Television at 8 p.m.

We’re in the midst of preparing for that debate with our great team of journalists and partners. I hope you’ll be able to tune in or catch it in a re-broadcast.

With that in mind, a number of our stories this week touch on political issues in some way. We look at apple farmers pushing for immigration reform, a quick peak at some of the political shots being lobbed in the governor’s race, and James Madison’s crystal flute.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Common Ground Country Fair last weekend, it was great to see you!

'Till next time,

Mark

Take a few minutes and jump into our SECOND News & Brews online trivia quiz. These questions were taken from our first two trivia nights – at Side By Each in Auburn and Fogtown in Ellsworth – and give you a sense of what Maine Public trivia is all about. We are headed to three brew pubs this October: Maine Beer Company (12th), Austin Street Brewery (17th), and Rising Tide (19th). Form a team, come up with a team name (which is half the fun anyway!), and come compete!
