It’s finally here!

… Our Somerset County drop for Climate Driven started on Monday and it’s still going through the end of the week. We have a great mix of stories touching on maple syrup and how the sugar maples might survive in a northern Maine pocket, what’s happening with wind power across the state, new forms of insulation crafted from the forest industry, and the carbon footprint of New Balance shoes, to name a few. We also took our electric car, “Pearl” into rural Somerset County to learn about what it takes to make EV life happen there. Catch them all, plus stories from our previous three counties at mainepublic.org/climatedriven.

Also this week, Ukrainian refugees are now arriving at the border with Mexico, betting on ice out dates in Vermont, and how you might change your shower routine to reduce pollution.

We also had some enthusiasm over on Instagram, or the “gram” as the kids call it these days. Check out our posts there to see some maple syrup-inspired pancake action from last week here

Until next time,
