What Does the Future Hold for Myeloma Patients?

In this week’s blog, IMF Chairman of the Board and Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Brian G.M. Durie talks about how hopes and challenges for the future of myeloma research are coming into focus. He also emphasizes the International Myeloma Foundation’s (IMF) resilience and unwavering commitment to fulfilling its mission, in the service of ALL myeloma patients around the globe—especially those with very limited access to resources and treatment options. He continues to advise practicing due diligence and safety precautions against COVID-19, as the BA.5 omicron subvariant becomes a cause of concern. Dr. Durie remains optimistic about the future, as new immune therapies in addition to other novel agents offer great hope when it comes to improving outcomes and potentially, even achieving a cure for some patients.
