Agroecology Meets the Digital World in the Andes by McKnight Foundation One of the most important challenges facing the regenerative movement is reaching people who are not already part of the conversation. The Andes Agroecológicos project, led by the Institute for Rural Development in South America and the McKnight Foundation, took a new approach: bringing together 12 social media creators from Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador and connecting them directly with farmers, market vendors, and local food system leaders across all three countries. Regenerative Farms Lost Three Times Less Yield in France’s Droughts. Here’s Why. by Angela Symons A study of more than 1,200 farms across France offers some of the most concrete large-scale evidence yet that regenerative agriculture holds up when conditions get hard. Carried out by Soil Capital in partnership with KU Leuven university in Belgium, the research found that highly regenerative farms recorded an eight per cent drop in crop yields during the 2023 droughts, compared to 22 per cent on their least regenerative counterparts. The reason is straightforward: healthy soil rich in organic matter holds water. Research by France's national agricultural research institute found that soils managed regeneratively held between eight and 15 per cent more water than conventionally tilled soils, and produced higher biomass yields for the same volume of water used.
Trees Belong in the Regenerative Agriculture Story by Hugh Locke Regenerative agriculture has become one of the defining climate conversations of our time, featured in nearly 100 events at Climate Week NYC in 2025 and the subject of 27 dedicated sessions at COP30, where Brazil launched a global initiative to restore 1.5 billion hectares of degraded agricultural land. But as the movement grows, one significant gap keeps appearing in its mainstream framing: trees. Hugh Locke, writing for Sustainable Harvest International, makes the case that agroforestry, particularly for the hundreds of millions of smallholder farmers cultivating plots of two hectares or less across the Global South, is not supplementary to regenerative practice but central to it.

Seed Is Life: A New Documentary on Farmer Seed Sovereignty by African Centre for Biodiversity Farmer-saved seed is the foundation of agricultural biodiversity and food systems worldwide, and it is under threat. The African Centre for Biodiversity's first feature-length documentary, Seed Is Life, tells the story of how corporate capture has eroded farmer seed rights, particularly across South Africa and Zimbabwe, while celebrating the communities that continue to safeguard this vital heritage and fight to reclaim what is theirs. The film's history is told by four women affiliated with ACB, including director Mariam Mayet, and looks honestly at the role of the state and how it could better support smallholder farming systems and agroecological approaches.
Dr. Bronner’s Has a Plan to Change Capitalism as We Know It by Jennifer Conrad Dr. Bronner's has taken a consistent stance against greenwashing. The $250 million natural soap company announced it would no longer pursue B Corp certification, arguing the standard had become a marketing tool that large multinationals could meet without meaningfully cleaning up their supply chains. A Dr. Bronner's executive also wrote critically about the Giving Pledge, questioning why the conversation focuses on how billionaires distribute their wealth rather than why economic systems allow such extreme concentration in the first place. In its place, Dr. Bronner's has launched the Purpose Pledge, a supply chain integrity initiative that emphasizes spreading well-being to everyone involved in creating and consuming a company's products, with 16 companies signed on at launch.
