all in for fall

Fall moments on the Quad

The fall breeze is a crisp one and sweater weather is nearly here. These days the lines in the Bridge Cafe are always long, and the study rooms are never empty. While our shuttle busses are filled with students heading off campus to explore and learn in DC, our faculty and student leaders are bringing Washington to campus.

The excitement of new classes and activities can also pose new challenges for students. This is a good time to talk with yours about the healthy habits and academic strategies they can practice now so they are better prepared for the inevitable stressors of mid-term season.

We look forward to welcoming families back to campus during Family Weekend. For those who will not be able to join, we'll continue to share ways to keep you connected with AU -  wherever you are!

In July, the White House announced the appointment of American University alumna Shuwanza Goff, SPA/MS '08, as President Biden’s new director of legislative affairs, making her the first Black woman to hold the position. Goff is a “proven leader and trusted voice on both sides of the aisle,” said President Biden in the announcement.

The search for American University's 16th president is underway. Hearing from our AU Eagle Families is a valued step that will enhance the search and help us identify the next AU president. We invite you to share your perspective by participating in our community survey before October 6.
