15th Annual Miles for Myeloma Is Back In Person and Virtual

The Miles for Myeloma Hybrid 5K Run/Walk will once again Redefine Being Together on Saturday, April 29, 2023, in FDR Park in Philadelphia. Through the years, this event has funded 10 Brian D. Novis Research Grants. These grants usher in the brightest minds to the field of myeloma research. Join  Las Voces de Mieloma Support Group (Spanish/Virtual), on Tuesday, April 18, 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. PST with Guest Speaker and myeloma patient Teresa Regueiro. Diagnosed in 2009 with high-risk multiple myeloma, Teresa started a multiple myeloma Facebook page in 2014, with articles translated from English to Spanish. After the growth of this page, she founded the Spanish Community of Patients with Multiple Myeloma at the national level (in Spain), and continues to lead the association bringing myeloma information to patients. IMF Nurse Leadership Board Members Speak at the Oncology Nursing Society Congress in San Antonio, Texas

Management of multiple myeloma includes new regimens and innovative drugs with novel mechanisms of action. These evolving paradigms of care highlight the need for nurse education, shared decision-making, and recognition of disparities. At the Oncology Nursing Society Congress on April 27, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas, four highly experienced nurses will lead a 1.5 CNE symposium on “New and Emerging Therapies for Multiple Myeloma: Case Studies for Nurses.” New and experienced nurses will find helpful insights and tools to implement and share with patients and colleagues.
