Thank you for being part of the It was an amazing and successful day with over 522,000 people from all accross the globe tuning in to watch and listen to many panels. We feel honored for all the speakers and people who tuned in to this worldwide event. Thank you so much! We are in Glasgow for COP26 In 2015, Regeneration International sent a large delegation to COP21 in Paris. There, we were able, along with our partners, to raise the issue of healthy soils and healthy food to cool the planet. For the first time since the first Conference of the Parties (COP 1) which took place in Berlin, the role of industrial agriculture and change of land use in global warming was made relevant. Six years after its inception and following the adoption of its Strategic Plan in 2020, the “4 per 1000” Initiative will present its Implementation Strategy, which will outline activities to achieve its 2050 goals. The initiative has entered into a phase of implementation with the contribution of its members, partners, and friends. The overall theme of the fifth "4 per 1000" Day will be "the mobilization of stakeholders (partners, members, and friends of the initiative) by forging transformative alliances and partnerships (multi- stakeholder coalitions) to implement its 2050 Strategic Plan”. For more information on 4 per 1000Check our special COP26 webpage for all the updates.
Essential Reading How the Loss of Soil Is Sacrificing America’s Natural Heritage A new study points to a stunning loss of topsoil in the Corn Belt — the result of farming practices that have depleted this once-fertile ground. Beyond diminished agricultural productivity and more carbon in the atmosphere, it is a catastrophic loss of an irreplaceable resource. Healthy soil means healthy rivers, food and people. But restoring health and balance to the ecosystems we’re part of will require changes in the way we farm. The Regenerative Revolution in Food Whenever she can, Donna Kilpatrick rises before the sun and makes her way to the low-lying cattle pastures along the Fourche La Fave River at Heifer Ranch. It has become one of her favorite ways to start a day. Farmers Should Act Now to Become Market Leaders in Regenerative Agriculture New Zealand is better placed than other countries to embrace regenerative agriculture due to its existing pastoral systems, but lack of a clear definition is holding it back, new research has found.

Regeneration International is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, dedicated to building a global network of farmers, scientists, businesses, activists, educators, journalists, policymakers and consumers who will promote and put into practice regenerative agriculture and land-use practices that: provide abundant, nutritious food; revitalize local economies; regenerate soil fertility and water-retention capacity; nurture biodiversity; and restore climate stability by reducing agricultural greenhouse gas emissions while at the same time drawing down excess atmospheric carbon and sequestering it in the soil.
