As a constituent and taxpayer, I was troubled to learn from government watchdog White Coat Waste Project that my tax dollars are paying for wasteful and cruel animal testing at various government-funded facilities including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Dept. of Defense (DOD), Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS), Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
 
Billions of tax dollars each year are being wasted on unproductive and unnecessary experiments where animals are tortured, maimed, and often killed using torture devices.
 
What's worse, the government admits these tests fail 95% of the time and waste billions of dollars.
 
Like over 70% of taxpayers, I oppose this outdated experimentation and support Congress’s work to cut this egregious waste and abuse.
 
I hope you will join bipartisan efforts to urge federal agencies to cut wasteful spending on animal experimentation.
