Not an easy week with the tragic news out of Texas.

Many people are asking: What can be done? To try and put this in better context, our newsroom put together an overview of what you need to know about Maine’s gun landscape.

NPR also has continued coverage, reporting on topics ranging from how to talk to kids about school shootings to how a gun turn-in program was popular beyond expectation in Sacramento.

This week’s issue also touches on a new pilot trying African inspired dishes in Portland schools, scalloping in the Baystate and debates over that fishery, and the first all-black team to summit Mt. Everest. Finally, we have a local look at the baby formula shortage and another baby story out of Kenya.
