Will you recommit to fighting climate change?

Dear Peter Anthony,

We miss you. We really do.

We haven't heard from you in awhile. So we're just wondering: Do you still want to keep receiving emails from us about the climate fight in MA?

We sure hope you do. Because now more than ever, we need a strong movement to fight the climate crisis. We’re in a code-red climate emergency and we have nine short years to stop it. To do that, we need everyone to organize. That means we need you.

So will you take us back?

If you still need some convincing… here are some updates on what we’ve been up to:

  • We're WINNING: Our CCAN team in Virginia just passed a revolutionary transportation bill that is now law! Thanks to the CCANers fighting for Clean Car Standards, electric vehicles will be more accessible than ever in Virginia. And in Maryland, the Public Service Commission will now have to consider climate change when reviewing applications for new electricity-generating facilities.
  • We’re adapting: We’re responding quickly to our ever-changing world. In response to the coronavirus, we majorly boosted our digital advocacy tools, holding virtual town halls, webinars, action nights, art nights, and more.  We're now starting to have outdoor, socially-distanced events so we can ease back into in-person advocacy. But we will continue to integrate digital tools and actions into our work — because even as public spaces open back up, digital is a trend that won't go away.
  • We’re still fighting: We now have the effort to pass the Build Back Better Act — the most historic climate action the US Congress has ever had a chance of passing. This would put us on the pathway to 100% clean electricity by 2035, while creating a just recovery from the coronavirus crisis by creating good clean energy jobs.

Being part of a strong community is key to solving the climate crisis. Which is why we are working to do just that.

Will you join us? Update your email preferences today!

Sincerely,

Mike Tidwell and the rest of the CCAN team
